Healthy Body, Health Mind

Take care of your mind and body

In order to have a healthy body and a healthy mind we must adopt a healthy lifestyle. It doesn’t matter whether we are in our 30’s, 40’s, or 50’s…….., it is important that we look after our bodies. Our body is not like a car, if we don’t take care of our car it can get fixed in a garage and if it’s beyond repair, we go and change it for a new model. We can’t do that with our bodies, we have to live with it. Unless you want to nurse illnesses in your later years, please take notice of what I am about to tell you.

Our Genes

Our genes play a part in how long we live, however having a healthy body and healthy mind gives us a better chance of improving our longevity. Our genes do not define our future. Many factors can trigger our genes or they may never emerge.

Mind and Body Connection

A HEALTHY BODY EQUALS A HEALTHY MIND

A healthy body equals a healthy mind. This means by improving your health and nutrition it will trigger a healthy mindset. Our body and our mind are constantly communicating with each other, which is known as the mind and body connection. It means that what we think affects how we feel. For instance when we are feeling stressed or anxious, our bodies experience a series of reactions such as a rapid beating heart, sweaty palms and raised blood pressure.

Also what we feel affects our thinking. Suffice to say that a healthy body will make you feel good about yourself and create a more positive mindset which means the more likelihood of you taking more positive action. However the opposite is also true, an unhealthy body can signal negative emotions and continued unhealthy habits.

Our body is communicating signals to us all the time. Therefore we need to learn to listen to these signals before they become serious. Signs to be aware of include poor sleep, always feeling tired, always getting sick, loss of appetite, irregular bowels, and frequent skin breakouts. We may also need to take into account our negative feelings and emotions. Start listening to our body and mind, and begin to take control of your own health. No one else is responsible for your body. No one else knows your body better than you. Take responsibility and you will feel better for it.

What can you do for a healthy body and healthy mind

More often than not, when we get a diagnosis of cancer or another serious illness, it prompts us to take control of our health. However, we should not let it get to that stage before we do anything.

Here are some tips for a healthy body and healthy mind:

To Summarise

It is important we look after our body and mind no matter what age. It’s never too early or too late to start thinking about our health. Our Genes play a part in how long we live, however that is not to say it is the determining factor. A healthy lifestyle gives us all a better chance of improving our longevity. So don’t wait until you get a diagnosis for a serious illness, before you take action. Prevention is key. Listen to what your body is trying to tell you by being aware of the signals your body is giving you. Be responsible and start taking control of your own health. This is key to living agelessly.

As always, Living Agelessly
